Visit from American iDigBio

Deb Paul, the User Services Specialist of the American iDigBio programme, from Florida State University, visited Digitarium on 2013-10-15/16. Discussions covered digitisation workflows, crowdsourcing, data standards, and mutual collaboration. It was agreed to continue exchange of information and make further visits.

The iDigBio programme is the largest digitisation effort in the world. It is funded by NSF for ten years by $10 million annually, and is distributed to various institutions across the USA. Deb Paul held a public lecture at the University of Eastern Finland campus descringing the programme. (The slides will be available shortly from a link here.)
