Certified digitisation experts completed their training

The first certified experts of digitisation of natural history collection specimens completed their training at Digitarium on 2012-01-31. During the nine-month training programme they became familiar with imaging botanical and entomological samples, data interpretation and data entry, georeferencing, and data management.

The training programme also included curation of natural history collections, taxonomy, systematics, biodiversity informatics, international data exchange standards, ICT applications, communications, use of online databases, and digitisation of historical accession books. Also a general course of project management was included. The trainees participated actively in the development of the methods, products, and services of Digitarium.

Our warmest congratulations to the newly certified experts!

The following course may commence in the Autumn of 2012. Enquiries are welcome.
